Where Does Copilot Process UAE Data?
This is the question most UAE pages answer wrongly. The answer depends on which Copilot you mean.
Most Dynamics 365 Copilot data residency UAE questions start from the wrong announcement. In October 2025 Microsoft announced in-country processing for Microsoft 365 Copilot for qualified UAE organisations. That covers the productivity Copilot in Word, Outlook and Teams. It is not a statement about Copilot inside Dynamics 365.
For Dynamics 365, Microsoft's Power Platform documentation on moving data across regions is explicit. It maps environments hosted in the United Arab Emirates to Azure OpenAI Service hosted in the United States, with Bing search processing also in the United States.

Three details matter for your compliance file. First, Microsoft lists Copilot in Sales, Customer Service and Customer Insights among the features that depend on the data-movement setting, so leaving it off can stop them working. Second, Microsoft states that data moved while the setting was on cannot be reversed by clearing the checkbox later. Third, Microsoft states it does not log, store or retain prompts during the move, and the setting does not change its storage commitments for data at rest.
Whether that transfer is acceptable is a legal question, not a technical one.
